You'll find it's fully furnished, and enjoy the 2-way grand fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, locally made log furniture and complete laundry facilities. Great Sand Bay Estate is open three seasons, early summer, summer and fall. It is a non-smoking facility. To add to the North Woods setting, the home has 13 acres of private forest 100 feet from Lake Superior. Summer hosts a great many attractions in the area such as fishing for trout, Northern Pike and salmon, golf, hiking and biking. Enjoy the choice white sand beach, rock hounding, copper mines, specialty shops and restaurants of Copper Harbor and Eagle Harbor. Michigan Technological University, with its arts, theatre and hockey, is located in Houghton. Take a side trip to Isle Royal National Park. Ojibwa Casino, in Baraga (1 hour away), is a possible stop while traveling to or from the house. Keweenaw Lodge Golf Course - 15 minutes - 9-hole golf course in a North woods setting. Enjoy dining in their rustic Lodge. Isle Royale National Park - Copper Harbor - 20 minutes - Commuting ship leaves from Copper Harbor. Wolves and moose of the wild North Woods. Eagle Harbor & Copper Harbor Specialty Shops - 15-20 minutes - Upper Peninsula's best 'Northern Hospitality' awaits you as you shop the numerous specialty shops and dining establishments of Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor. Fish Camp Charters -Lac LaBelle - 15 minutes - Captain Bob and his boat, Kala Moiakka II are a recommended team for your Great Lakes fishing.
